Course Summary

Are y'all ready for this??  I AM!!  AND, I'm so excited to FINALLY be able to do this with you!!  Family Manners Level 2! How does it work? Each week we will meet at a local Denton park, our goal is to work with the dogs on their basic behaviors and help them through the excitement there, so they can handle going all the places & doing all the things with you & your family.  Each week you will also have an "on your own" assignment encouraging you to take your pup to an assigned place & work on behaviors there as well outside our class time together.

Angie Dickinson

I always loved dogs and planned to work with them from an early age.  I started at 11, with my own dog walking and pet sitting business in the neighborhood where we lived.  When I was 13, I took my Yorkshire Terrier, "Brandy" through an AKC obedience club training class, we had fun and worked together and were awarded the ranking of second place in that group class. At the same time that I was learning AKCs training techniques, I was also (unbeknownst to me at the time) using positive reinforcement techniques with Brandy's daily heart-worm prevention medication.  He loved to play learning games and worked so happily for those treats everyday!  After that I was hooked on dog training! Since then I have helped friends, family and clients work with and train their dogs to be better family companions.  I worked at PetSmart as a trainer for 3 years, during my time there it became obvious that my community had a need outside of that setting, it was then that I founded A+ Dog Obedience School, which has since become "Angie Loves Dogs". Since then, I have helped the SPCA and other rescue groups both with fostering and training the dogs in their programs. I showed my Rat Terrier Justin in Conformation, together we earned his UKC Championship. Currently my Coated American Hairless Terrier "My-Otis" (AKA "My-O") are working together to learn all kinds of things, he has his AKC Novice Trick Dog (TKN) title, is halfway to his "BCAT" title which is for the AKC Fast CAT sport. we are learning Flyball and Agility. I am a strong supporter and advocate of scientifically based training, I use positive reinforcement science based training techniques. I am a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed), and a AKC approved Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator. I love working with people to help their dogs learn to be the best companions that they can possibly be.
