I always loved dogs and started working with them at an early age. When I was 11, I started my own dog walking and pet sitting business in the neighborhood where we lived. When I was 13, I took my Yorkshire Terrier, "Brandy" through an AKC obedience club training class, we had fun and worked together to earn second place in that group class. At the same time that I was learning the AKC type training techniques, I was also (unbeknownst to me at the time) using positive reinforcement techniques with Brandy's daily heart-worm prevention medication. He loved to play learning games and worked so happily for those 'treats' everyday! After that I was hooked on dog training! Since then I have helped clients, friends and even family members work with and train their dogs to be better companions. I worked at PetSmart as a trainer for 3 years, it was during my time there it became obvious that my community had a need outside of that setting, it was then that I founded A+ Dog Obedience School, which has become "Angie Loves Dogs". Since that time, I have helped the SPCA and other rescue groups both with fostering and training the dogs in their programs. I showed my Rat Terrier "Justin" in Conformation, together we earned his UKC Championship. Currently my Coated American Hairless Terrier "My-Otis Osiris" (AKA "My-O", and sometimes "Lil Dude", or "Bat Boy") and I are working together to learn all kinds of things, he has his AKC Novice Trick Dog (TKN) title, the first weekend of January 2026 he earned his "BCAT" title which is for the AKC Fast CAT sport. We are currently learning Flyball and Agility. His new 'sister' "Iridessa" and I are competing in AKC conformation events together and she is learning foundations for flyball so when she is old enough she can begin flyball competitions as well. I am a strong supporter and advocate of scientifically based animal training, I use positive reinforcement science based training techniques. I am a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed), and AKC approved Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator. I love working with people to help their dogs learn to be the best friends, companions, family and community members that they can possibly be.
A personal note about me outside of dog training... I love to dance to 80's Retro music, I have 4 human kiddos, I love tie dye (wearing & the process of dying things), I have a BFA in Photography and a minor in general business, I have a few tattoos and sometimes my hair is a little crazier than the 'norm'.
Below are some photos of my dogs.... Iridessa and My-O playing together. Molly being a good girl waiting at the back door.
